Choose Your Dominoes Game
Dominoes is not just one game. Different variants use the same basic idea of matching numbers, but each one adds its own rhythm, scoring system and strategy.
Classic Draw Dominoes
Classic Draw Dominoes is one of the easiest ways to start playing dominoes online. Players match tiles to the open ends of the layout. If a player cannot move, they draw from the boneyard until they find a playable tile or until no tiles are left.
This version is beginner-friendly because the boneyard gives players more chances to recover from a difficult hand.
Block Dominoes
Block Dominoes is a more tactical version of the game. If you cannot play, you pass instead of drawing more tiles. That makes every tile more important and rewards players who can control the open ends.
Block is a great choice if you enjoy a stricter, more strategic dominoes game.
All Fives
All Fives adds a scoring twist to classic dominoes. After each move, the open ends are counted. If they add up to a multiple of five, the player scores points.
This makes All Fives a great online dominoes game for players who enjoy calculation, timing and point scoring during the round.
Bergen
Bergen is a tactical dominoes variant where scoring depends on matching the open ends. It rewards careful planning and gives players another way to think about board control.
If you already know classic dominoes and want to try something different, Bergen is a smart next step.
Mexican Train
Mexican Train is a popular social dominoes variant built around personal trains, a shared train and round-based scoring. It is easy to understand, but it offers plenty of strategic choices once the board starts to grow.
If you enjoy longer, more social dominoes games, Mexican Train is one of the best variants to explore.
How to Play Dominoes Online
Most classic dominoes games use a standard double-six set with 28 tiles. Each tile is divided into two ends, and each end shows a number of dots called pips. Blank ends count as zero.
In a typical two-player dominoes game, each player starts with seven tiles. The remaining tiles form the boneyard, which may be used during the round depending on the game mode.
To play, place a tile so that one side matches one of the open ends on the board. For example, if one open end shows a 6, you can play any tile with a 6 on that side.
If you cannot play, the next step depends on the rules:
- In Draw Dominoes, you draw from the boneyard until you can play or until the boneyard is empty.
- In Block Dominoes, you pass when you cannot play.
- In All Fives, you also try to make the open ends add up to multiples of five.
The round usually ends when one player plays all their tiles or when the game becomes blocked and no player can move. The winner is often the player who goes out first or the player with the lowest pip count when the board is blocked.

Tips to Win at Dominoes Online
Dominoes is easy to learn, but strong players make better decisions with every tile. Use these simple tips to improve your results when playing dominoes online.
Play high-value tiles early
Tiles with many pips can be risky late in the round. If your opponent goes out while you are holding high-value tiles, those pips can turn into points for them.
Keep your hand flexible
Try to keep different numbers in your hand. A flexible hand gives you more ways to play on future turns and reduces the chance of getting stuck.
Watch draws and passes
When another player draws or passes, they reveal useful information. They may be missing one of the open numbers. Use that clue to decide which numbers to keep open or close.
Use doubles carefully
Doubles can help you control the board, but they can also become difficult to play if you wait too long. Try to play high doubles before the layout becomes too restrictive.
Think one move ahead
Do not play only because a tile is legal. Before every move, ask what number you are leaving open and whether that helps you or your opponent.
